Hi, I’m Sye (They/Them).

I am a white, nonbinary, queer, neuroqueer, anti-zionist ashkenazi jewish healer, living on the unceeded ancestral lands of Huichin and Ohlone peoples. As a healer I guide as a Registered Drama Therapist and embodiment centered coach. I strive to show up as my authentic & connected self, with the hope of inviting you to do the same. I offer sessions in person in Oakland and/or virtually anywhere in the US. Preceding any credentials, I am a human being who cares deeply about multidimensional pathways towards healing in relationship.

Therapeutic relationships and collectives that promote dimensionality and creativity are at the heart of aliveness & repair. My story has taught me that healing needs to center play, reconnection, and affinity. I have been on a healing journey by calling back the parts of me that have been weaponized, oppressed, extracted from, traumatized, and withheld. I am another human doing my best to host all my roles/parts within a loving collective as I decolonize, reconnect, and queer/claim the meaning of aliveness back from grip of the systems of oppression.

As a drama therapist, I support you to honor the multiplicity of roles within you, and celebrate their resilience, resistance, and creativity. In healing I believe we need co-conspiratorship, collaboration, and good company. Our work together will seek to illuminate the roles you play, those burried within, and those you long to become. We bring these parts of self into relationship, into connection, and into dialogue. I act as a guide to help hold a sacred space, facilitate opportunities for connections, offer trauma informed knowledge, and intuitive wisdom along your path. Some of my roles that inform the space I offer: non-binary and queer human , neuroqueer, white-bodied settler, Ashkenazi Jew, trauma survivor, post traumatic grow-er, community builder, ritualist, theater artist/performer, healer, partner, humor enthusiast, cat parent, writer, and forever student of somatics, nature, and the mystic.

I am inspired by living for collective liberation through radical empathy. I believe our wellbeing includes relationships to our body, community, land, spirit, & ancestors. In our work together, we will center on what promotes aliveness, resource, joy, and endurance for you. We will evoke & seek to more fully inhabit your aligned values, desires, and authenticity. I hope these connections bridge you to many other spaces, communities, and resourceful webs in your life.

I support clients to mitigate shame from harmful systems/environments that we live under and within. Living under late stage racialized capitalism, and a cis-hetero, abelist, patriarchal paradigm, I honor that healing looks like compassionate harm reduction and empowerment back towards intuition, organicity, collectivism, and a sacred ancient belonging of all beings. Healing that dismantles capitalistic ideas of wellness and instead promotes quality of life as defined by sacred knowing. Especially for communities which have been historically and systemically excluded, I understand trauma healing to be a practice of remembering. Waking from the myths of disempowerment taught by colonization, white supremacy, individualism and capitalism, means to call ourselves back. To remember that we all have innate healing abilities, the capacity for depthful relationship, and the embodiment of sacred lineages within in. The re-humanizing of our spirits is possible togethter.

i am passionate about…

  • Defining “care” from a Gender Non Conforming & Queer understanding/lived experience. De-centering cis-heteronormativity & compulsory sexuality that informs western notions of wellness. Looking for how these identities are impacted through ancestral origins and how to radically disrupt notions of gender that embody white dominance, patriarchy, and colonizer ideology.

  • Care-giver recovery and mitigation of “burn out”. This is informed by a paradigm shift from individualism to collective care

  • Learning to be anti-racist. Purposefully identifying, discussing, and challenging white supremacy through body, mind, and spirit

  • Dissolving harmful social constructs of “Normative” & “Ability” through practices of acceptance & intimacy. Unlearning internalized“isms” and “obias”

  • Understanding our early attachment narratives and how they impact our present relationships. Identifying how these early formed roles both act as potential barriers and conduits to connection, intimacy, wholeness, and spiritual healing

  • Connecting with my own ancestral roots to support others doing the same. This journey for me is a pathway to mending unmetabolized energies living in me that reinforce the embodiment of the colonizer mentality, assimilation, and erasure of others. It is also about connecting to the joy and resistance from my ancestors, their creativity, empowerment, magic, and gifts. Liberation for me does not equal subjugation of any other. Through jewish ancestral healing I seek to lean back into the richness of Ashkenasi folk magic, healing arts, and the collective nervous system of my lineages to awaken spiritual knowing. This is in resistance to the tyranny of rationalism and reductive life under capitalism, military industrial complex, imperialism, and racism. Building a relationship to the historically dissociated parts of me through ancestral connection influences my stance as a therapeutic guide. This includes ancestry beyond blood such as queercestors and artist ancestors too

  • Movement, poetry, nature, metaphor, embracing mistakes & HUMOR!
